As part of CIVITAS – Cities in Motion, my practice has unfolded over years spent moving through cities and observing their shifting geographies. Through the lens of my old Olympus 70g Superzoom (2002), I have collected hundreds of images—fragments of metropolises captured in their silent moments and their restless ones.

These photographs are less records than encounters: brief negotiations between myself and the streets I cross, the people I meet, the architectures that impose themselves or recede into the background. Each frame carries a tension between intimacy and anonymity, between the body that looks and the city that absorbs that gaze.

Working with 35mm film, I allow the city to reveal itself slowly—through grain, through accident, through the time it takes for an image to surface. This analogue process mirrors the way cities themselves are lived: not instantly, not cleanly, but through layers, delays, and accumulations.
